Marvel Studios anunció ayer que el actorHugo Weaving ha sido confirmado en el papel de Johann Schmidt -mejor conocido como Red Skull- en el film CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, oponiéndose a Chris Evans (Capitán America) y Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes).
En los comics, The Red Skull es un nazi que trabaja para el Tercer Reich y así se lo vió en la película de los '90, interpretado por el actor Scott Paulin.
Weaving actuó por última vez en The Wolfman, puso su voz a Megatron enTransformers y Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, y a Noah the Elder enHappy Feet. Sus grandes roles fueron vistos en V For Vendetta, y en las trilogías The Matrix, y The Lord of the Rings.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER será protagonizada por Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell y Sebastian Stan. Dirigida por Joe Johnston, producida por Kevin Feige y Marvel Studios y distribuída por Paramount Pictures. Se estrenaría el 22 de julio de 2011.
